Check Dry Cleaners is a professional garment care, cleaning and finishing service which caters to the personal wardrobes of men, women and children, we specialise in dry cleaning of designer wear & fine garments. We also provide dry cleaning, laundry & pressing service to businesses. We provide you top quality service with a team of dry cleaning professionals from the industry with decades of experience.
Mr George Gerogiades, with his wife Chrissy a long way away from his home in Cyprus established Check Dry Cleaners in 1963. They opened up Check at the Fairmount Shopping Centre in Johannesburg. Together they worked tirelessly to provide a quality service to the community. 25 years ago the business moved across the road to where it still stands today. The family continue to run the business to the high standard set by her father. Chrissy, a seamstress from the age of 13, continues to be an integral part of the business by taking care of all the mending and alteration needs. A community of three generations still pass through the doors of Check Dry Cleaners, with patrons still stopping to reminiscence about George. Their continued loyal support is what gives the business life and without their support Check Dry Cleaners would not be the family it is today.
